Which FxPro platform to install on a Windows 10 or 11 PC, a laptop or a Mac, where the Windows installer is listed and what the first login asks for.

On a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, an FxPro account is traded through a terminal you install, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or cTrader, or through FxPro Edge, which works in a browser. The Windows installers are listed in FxPro Direct, the client area you sign in to after registering, and downloading them costs nothing. Pick the terminal that matches your trading account: an MT5 account logs in to MetaTrader 5 only, an MT4 account to MetaTrader 4 only. What installs on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC
- MetaTrader 5 (MT5): a Windows installer with 21 timeframes, depth of market and share CFDs next to forex.
- MetaTrader 4 (MT4): a Windows installer for MT4 Standard and MT4 Raw+ accounts.
- cTrader: a Windows desktop app with Level-II pricing; the same account also opens in a browser.
- FxPro Edge: FxPro's own platform, used in a browser with nothing to install, plus a desktop build.
- The FxPro mobile app is built for Android and iOS, so a PC runs one of the four platforms above.
FxPro download for PC: installing on Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Sign in to FxPro Direct. Registration and sign-in run through the Open FxPro Account button on this page; the platform downloads are listed in the client area next to your trading accounts.
- Pick the download that matches the account. Each trading account is opened on one platform. Choose MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4 or cTrader for Windows to match it; FxPro Edge needs no installer.
- Run the .exe file. Windows 10 and Windows 11 show a User Account Control window that asks whether the app may make changes to the device and names its publisher: MetaQuotes for MetaTrader, Spotware for cTrader. Confirm, then follow the setup window, which puts a shortcut on the desktop.
- Log in on first launch. MetaTrader asks for the trading account number, the password and the server name. All three are shown in FxPro Direct for that account. If the window is closed by mistake, the same fields sit under File → Login to Trade Account.
- Check the connection. Once the login is accepted, the status bar at the bottom right of the terminal shows data coming in. Invalid account there means one of the three details belongs to a different account, most often the server.
FxPro on a Mac: the browser route
MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and FxPro Edge all have web versions, so a MacBook or iMac in Kenya can trade the same account without an installer.
- Open Safari or Chrome and sign in to FxPro Direct.
- Choose the web version of the platform your account uses: MT4, MT5, cTrader or FxPro Edge.
- Enter the login details shown for that account in FxPro Direct.
- In Safari on macOS Sonoma or later, File → Add to Dock turns the web terminal into its own window that opens from the Dock.
MT4 download on Windows 10, or MT5?
Searches for an MT4 download for Windows 10 usually come from someone who already holds an MT4 account or uses indicators written for MetaTrader 4. The two terminals look alike, but they do not share accounts: MetaTrader 4 connects only to MT4 Standard and MT4 Raw+ accounts, and MetaTrader 5 only to MT5 accounts.
MetaTrader 5 adds share CFDs, 21 timeframes, depth of market and a built-in economic calendar. MetaTrader 4 keeps a smaller toolset that a lot of older custom indicators were written for. When you open a first account, the platform is chosen at that moment, and the download follows from that choice.
FxPro Edge and FxPro Direct on a laptop
FxPro Edge is FxPro's own platform. According to FxPro, it runs in a browser with nothing to install, also comes as a desktop build and connects straight to your FxPro Direct account area.

Minimum funding before the first live trade
Installing MT4, MT5, cTrader or FxPro Edge costs nothing, and a demo account runs without a deposit. For a live account, FxPro lists a minimum deposit of $100.

CFDs are leveraged products, and a live account can lose money quickly. The minimum deposit is the entry point to a live account, not a measure of what trading will return.
APK files, download portals and other shortcuts
An APK is an Android installation file. Windows cannot open it on its own, so an FxPro APK for PC needs an Android emulator in between. Download portals that repackage trading terminals are best skipped. The installer you want is a single .exe taken from the platform list in FxPro Direct. A .zip or .rar archive, a helper program bundled into the setup or a request to switch off antivirus protection are signs that the file came from somewhere else.
